Our Program

Our Objective

At the end of the program, your child will be comfortable in the water with or without an individual flotation device. They will be able to swim short distances by gliding or kicking their legs on both their stomach and their back. It is important to note that this project aims to prevent children from drowning. Only minimum skills for survival in an aquatic environment will be taught. Therefore, this program is not equivalent to swimming lessons taught by the Quebec Lifesaving Society or other swimming organizations. If children wish to continue their aquatic journey, they will need to enrol in a  program offered by a  swimming club or their respective municipality.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to join our program.

Schedule

Each workshop will last  1 hour.
Workshop 1
Workshop 2
Workshop 3
The main goal of this class is to teach participants water safety rules and pool regulations to ensure their safety in and around the water. Additionally, participants will learn how to put on a lifejacket and identify places where swimming is not allowed through an interactive game.
This class will focus on fundamental swimming skills. It will cover various techniques, starting with basic floating exercises such as floating on the back and stomach.  The class will progress to kicking exercises using tools like a kickboard, noodle, or streamline position. Finally, participants will be introduced to swimming styles like the crawl stroke and the doggy paddle.
The primary objective of this class is to educate participants on drowning prevention and rescue techniques. The class will focus on what to do when someone is drowning, including a step-by-step guide on checking for danger and responding appropriately. This class will provide essential skills and knowledge to help participants take prompt and effective action in critical situations.
